Baptism: what a beautiful witness/sign of God's grace and forgiveness and the church's role in compassion and edification
And finally, just floating on the river. Good day.

(Legally, I guess I should note that these organizations probably do not know that I reference them, but I plan to do/say nothing that would dishonor anyone.)

Reading this day's entry makes it sound as though you are having a GREAT time and you will have culture shock coming back. Fortunately you have a wonderful support group in SA with fellow EMI'ers.
The river there looks cleaner than those in Texas! But what is that white stuff on the river bank?
It has been an amazing experience, especially living every moment (almost literally) within a community living out the greatest commandment - love God, love people.
I am not sure about clean. We staked camp downstream from the massive crowds. The water was cool and relatively clear. We still all took a bath when we got back though. The white stuff: concrete sides. They built up the walls of the river inside the park and put a gravel bottom in. It was pretty shallow.
Thanks for your continued encouragement, Ruth. See everybody in a few weeks.
Wow! Good times! It reminds me of "bathing" in Indonesia fully clothed. That was as close as we had got to a bath for quite a few days and were going to get! LOL! :)
